As a fun thought experiment, what would you have focused on or improved in the Third Version that was so obviously planned for Gen 6?
Give the Skates a reason to exist. You get the bike before you even get your second badge and it's faster, controls better, and doesn't stick to walls. Give the skates something to do.
Rhyhorn Racing. The Track is right there taunting you! Your Mom is an ex-champion! It was obviously meant to be in the third version.
Showcase the new mons. As a result of the massive regional Dex and low encounter rates the new Pokemon are practically hidden. I thought we learned this lesson after Gen 2. Make the new Mons common to see because their the whole point of a new region.
Post Game. Goes without saying. Give us a frontier or new area or upgrade the Chateau or something for christsake.
Fix the story: Actually make AZ something integrated into the plot instead of showing up with a key and no explanation. Change Lysanders plot from "kill poor people" to controlling Yvetal and Xerneas so he can create a world of stasis like his talk with Diantha implied. Then Zygarde (who you've been gathering cells of over the course of the game) becomes COMPLETE to preserve balance as is his purpose and fucks him up like Cyrus and Giratina.
Balance and Difficulty. First either balance the game around Exp Share or without. Then give the Gym Leaders actual teams.
