You can argue that all you want, but the simple fact is that GameFreak has known about save editing for over a decade now and has not done a single thing to change their rudimentary data storage in save files. Hell, even non-mainline games like Let's Go and PLA still use the basic save format.
If you can't distinguish my PKHeX mon from a hyper-trained and mirror-herbed mon, then there is no difference.
GameFreak is slowly but surely adopting an in-game version of PKHeX, via the new-gen move relearning, mirror herbs, ability patches, and hyper training.
