>>55499719I'll take it a step further and say, I wouldn't be surprised if Ash-Greninja SPECIFICALLY gets retconned into the Mega. It's been retconned out both in the anime, and mechanically with Battle Bond, but it's mysteriously present among the other Mega Home sprites.
As much as I find the "Ash" shit cringe, the timing of this lines up. It also explains the reasoning for the retcon in the first place, which is pretty much unheard of with Pokemon themselves.
