>>39084383The real situation is people acting like children. A some artists colored Nessa white or lighter than she appears in official art, for what ever reason whether it was intentional or not that doesn't really matter at this point. A lot of people were upset by this and a select few individuals lashed out at artists, like the girl who decided to changed her skin tone and tweeted at the artist to "put them in their place" or the artist that makes really lame comics strips getting shit for making their Nessa too light and writing a bad Scottish accent. The girl who tried to "fix" the one artist's work got called out for it, her and the artist talked privately, he apologized and deleted the tweet, they both made tweets regarding it and that interaction ended. The comic strip artist apologized, released an updated version with the skin tone closer to the original and told everyone they wished for less fighting over their work.
Every thing returns to business as usual, some artists are drawing er white or lighter whether it's because of unconscious personal bias, not being the greatest colorist, people misinterpreting their filter/color pallets, not liking brown/black people, just feeling like drawing her with a different skin tone, etc. Whatever the reason at this point it still doesn't matter. Some of them are still getting criticism for it, some of it constructive in the form giving example on how to color darker skinned character better, some of it just lobbying insults at them. Most of the artist either ignore it or choose to accept the criticism and update their work. The real drama should have ended their, but of course people don't like to let go and thing keep getting farther removed from the original source of drama.
