Sure, there are a couple of graphical improvements thrown every now and then, but it always feels delayed from what potential as a top media franchise they could have achieved by now. If we really think back, the jump from Gen 6 to Gen 7, or Gen 8 to Gen 9 feels very minimal, yet it's the expected result because fans will gargle up any game that the Pokemon Company presents. The progression has halted significantly because they still gain such substantial profits that it isn't in their best interest to invest more time or budget. The passion has been lost. We've come a far way from the days of Gen 2 to Gen 3, or Gen 4 to Gen 5. Because the fan demand has allowed it. As long as we get yearly release windows, it will always be a third-rate game franchise served to sell more merchandise.
