That's an intentional point that is supposed to make sense after the interaction at the Crystal Pool.
No one's arguing about "pocket dimensions" or "imagination" other than the professor/AI themselves when they talk about the complexities of space-time or their dream. It has zero relevance in meta discussion of what's actually going on.
