Unonfically at the end of the previous Masters Tournament, Ash and Leon had a Pokémon battle, however it ended in an overwhelming victory for Leon. >Standing in front of him again, Ash is no longer the same trainer as before. At the Sakuragi Research Institute he became a Research Fellow, visiting several regions and making new friends as well as having countless Pokémon battles. He’s been collecting a vast amount of experiences through those different days alongside his Pokémon, and his growth is massive. It’s clear even within the Masters Eight that the rookie boy and the strongest Champion are both amazing, and have had great influence on one another with every encounter.
