Think about it. They showed Diantha vs Lance first. The entire time, Diantha was one step ahead of Lance. Now in this battle, Diantha gets completely destroyed. Her strategy of controlling two of her opponents moves got destroyed because her opponent fired back...with the same move. The air attack only fanned the flames of the first attack and made it stronger. So how the HELL did Charizard's second fire attack defeat its first attack powered up by its wind attack AND being controlled by Psychic? Not just that, but Diantha was so shocked that the fire move OHKO'D Mega Gardevoir that she didn't even try to guard against it. No light screen up or anything despite the fact she used that strategy in the last match.
Then there was the Leon vs Alain match. Brought back Alain again just for him to get curb stomped.
Then there's Ash vs Steven where Ash's Pikachu tanks multiple hits from Metagross only to powerhax its way with maybe half a Z-move connecting and IRON HEAD? And then Pikachu LOSES not even halfway into his Cynthia match?
And don't get me started about Cynthia vs Iris.
