I bet if Guzma commited a mass human genocide, people still would defend him and tell how he is a good person and blame the world, when in reality he is evil, takes enjoyment of destroying others, likes to cause fear on others, his own grunts fear him, forces people to leave their homes with his grunts and is still fucking rude at the end of the story.
And then there is the manga counterpart.
He beats his own grunt, so that he can participate on the festival. Threatens and attacks Sun with his Golisopod so that he gets an injury on his hand. Has a serious breakdown after losing and hurts himself by doing so. And who knows what else he might do in the future chapters. He being sinister has always been there. I wouldn't be suprised if Guzma was potrayed in manga in the way he couldn't be in the game. An actual villain, instead of a joke one.
