>>56450119Elm gives us a moving speech
that I haven't written yet bringing back fond memories of our journey throughout Kanto and Johto, and wonders aloud what we'll do next. There's a mysterious 252nd Pokémon out there, after all. But for now, we'll head back to New Bark Town and reunite with our mother. She'll be glad to see us again after all this time. It might be nice to rest at home for a while.
And that's the end of Another Crystal! Over the next two months I'll be implementing various tweaks and fixes based on notes I've taken throughout this playthrough, and I'll do another runthrough on my new Analogue Pocket to verify that (1) this hack functions on actual hardware and not just mGBA, and (2) Link Cable functionality can still work between two players running the same ROM. And obviously, this final sequence with Elm will be polished up and actually completed.
The current roadmap is to finish 100% of Johto and engine-related tweaks by the end of this month, and then October will be spent on Kanto, the postgame, and cosmetic additions like more menu sprites and music tracks. The ultimate deadline for this project is November 21st, the 25th anniversary of Gold & Silver's Japanese release date. Above all else, I want to release this project in a state where it doesn't need any updates. One and done, no need for different versions to be floating out there and causing confusion.
To everyone that participated in these threads and ultimately helped build the team we've stuck with since Olivine City, thank you so much. I hope that even though I've revealed about 95% of what this game has to offer in terms of content already, that you'll still explore the game for yourself when it releases. There are a lot of mechanical changes that I never brought up along the way, but the final ROM will come with in-depth documentation on that stuff.
This was a lot of fun, and I look forward to doing something like this again. Thank you.
