So about whether Z-A takes place in the past or presemt/future. Legends Arceus made us look at the past of Sinnoh through exploring Hisui - a region that would become Sinnoh in the future. If Z-A would feature entire Kalos then a past setting would make sense because we could see how the region changed and evolved. But why would we explore Kalos history and lore only via old Lumiose? Which by the way never really felt as historic as many other places in the region. Wouldnt it make sense for it to be set sometime after XY? That way they could address many XY plot points aswell as pretty much every character.
Also one of the buildings/facilities in east south on the map CLEARLY has a Synchro machine symbol on the roof (you can see it if you zoom in) which tells me THIS is the game map we'll get since synchro machine is still a new thing in Indigo disk. We'll probably have parts of the game where we will explore as Pokemon (which would also explain the Pikachu running around perspective).
