The only offenders of "cartoon mascot" syndrome were really Hoopa, Dedene, and the most anorexic starters we've ever seen but the starters all go against the traditional mascot look in their final forms. Greninja just got lucky that its "cool" factor made TPC see it a design to shill to teenagers
