I like the bear, I think the issue comes with the sudden jump from black to pink, and the ears that sort of feel out of place. They really do look like

I also think if it had sharp looking claws, but kept the cute face, the contrast would convey the fact that it's actually a very dangerous Pokemon a bit better. Ultimately it's not bad, but I can understand the mixed reaction.
That being said, what type is it? Normal/Fairy?
