If GameFreak hadn’t elaborated on Home’s functionality until closer to its release, everyone would still have bought Sword and Shield, played it with the Galar dex, and messed around competitively or with the postgame or just simple fun online until Home’s release. Home does not deter from any of our gameplay experiences until it’s released and the only reason I can see that there is such an uproar is that people don’t realize its not releasing until next year. We’ve been through this with RS, we’ve been through this with XY, we’ve been through this with SM, we are going through it all over again.
And because of this huge backlash, any time in these upcoming months they can announce future updates to allow the Pokémon to be transferable, maybe even sometime next year. You can’t say “oh b-but GameFreak have never done content patches” yet expect things to change no matter how much you guys choose to boycott or protest.
I’m still going to buy the game, I’m still going to enjoy the game, and I’m not supporting any of the services like Home until transfers are enabled. Point blank.
