visual depiction of where you should be during zapdos
don't fucking sit in that tunnel that leads to your base. you want to be either above or below zapdos depending on your team comp and the pace of the game. having people around and inside the enemy tunnel is okay, because you'll have a concave around them if they try and come through, but you should focus on top and bottom
you want to control top if your comp is ranged-heavy or if you took rotom before zapdos, for obvious reasons. ideally, you should have started controlling top at like 2:30 so that you could kill rotom before it spawned. similarly, control bot if you have a melee-heavy comp or you're taking dred. if you take dred, the focus is on killing the enemy team, because your shield will let you fight them better and stay alive. if you take rotom, the focus is on stalling the enemy out and distracting them in the hopes of a rotom dunk. killing is obviously good in any situation.
if you die at / shortly before zapdos, it's generally a bad idea to launch down the middle. launch towards the side that your team controls and walk around or use the second launch pad in the jungle (riskier).
positioning like this also means you can catch cocky split pushers trying to do sneaky dunks, as long as you're standing in the right spot. how many people you put on each side is going to depend on a lot of factors. you can do a 3/2 split or a 5/0 split. 4/1's generally not very useful. 2/2/1 is an option if you want a flex scout in the middle tunnel.
