We start off meeting Professor Tim, who introduces us to the Rijon region. He shows us a Gligar, and we have the standard RB trainer sprite for us.
We start off in Seashore City: "Where waves of new journeys begin their long travels." Going around talking to NPCs, I find out my rival (didn't name them) is named Muda. The professor isn't in this town, so I'm heading to the next. There's a Gym blocked off by a tree, so I imagine I'll be back here later.
