The only, I repeat, ONLY reason has been so hated on here is because it was in the awkward position of coming before shitastic Gen 5, which was LIGHTYEARS worse than Gen 4, but because Unova was the newest gen all of the newgenners had to swarm all over it and call it the best gen simply because it was the newest entry. And of course nostaligafags weren't going to like Gen IV because it's not Gen I or Gen II.
But you're right. Now that Gen VI is out, shitty Gen V won't be protected by its newgen status. Even now you can see /vp/'s attitude toward that linear piece of shit getting more and more sour. Rightfully so, because Gen 5 was the worse gen we've ever had. And soon everyone will start waking up and realizing how great glorious, immersive, and AWE-INSPIRING Sinnoh was (and not just Platinum, D/P were better).
Here are my power rankings for this Gen, in terms of popularity:
6 > 4 > 3 > 2 > 1 > 5, with the last three being interchangeable.
This will be the majority public opinion. This is it. People are finally starting to see through the "wah wah Gen IV is shit" bullfuckingshit lies. It's coming. The age of Enlightenment.
