I wanted a challenge in BW and wasn't yet very fond of emboar or pignite (both have since grown significantly on me) so I raised it in it's first evolution - eviolite was introduced this gen too, very opportune timing. I fell super in love with Tepig because of how hard we had to work together to overcome obstacles, and gave me some of those old 'small animal big power' feels that the OG anime gave me when none of the starters evolved.
