Because of this, Dolphins are rarely depicted in Japanese culture as fun, playful, tangible animals and especially not as cute pets (ie pokemon or in anime). If the public started to care about dolphins, that industry would collapse. This is why we still havent had a dolphin pokemon, despite it being such an obvious opportunity.
I don't think the same can be said for hummingbirds...
