Id do more fantasy shit like Chargestone Cave or Area Zero, it doesnt even need to be that wacky either since its supposed to be more grounded but just SOMETHING to make the region stand out more. You can still make the region shaped like a real world province if you don’t want to retcon the globe thing.
I don’t get why people care about the real world basis anymore, what do you get? a couple pokemon lines and some themed cities. Its way more of an anchor than a boon nowadays.
