>>47267254> Morimoto should be THE director of the games instead of the battle system directorMorimoto
>Created HGSS, wildly considered to be one of the best remakes, remaining faithful to the beloved originals while adding several elements that made the game feel more immersive and heighten the theme for friendship with Pokemon that was present in the originals. Also Morimoto
>Didn't fix the level curve, one of the only flaws the original GCS had. Also Morimoto Again
>Decided the movepools/stats/ abilities for the Johto starters. 2/3 of which are unfortunately among the most useless Pokemon ever created. Typhlosion's is one of the only Pokemon where Smogon's only advice is "don't use it" and Meganium is so unusable that it's outclassed by Pokemon that aren't even fully evolved. The only reason Feraligatr managed to escape the disgrace of being a complete shitmon is because Game Freak was too stupid to code Sheer Force correctly. >ALSO Morimoto Once AgainGave Trainer Cal's Typhlosion Substitute (a move that takes way the user's health). To explain why this is a problem, Typhlosion actually has access to one of the strongest moves in the game, Eruption, (and Cal's knows the move) but Eruption requires the user to be at full health to be worth using. I'm seriously hoping that I'm missing something obvious because this combo is so counter-intuitive it breaks logic.
It truly is a shame Morimoto clearly cares deeply about Pokemon and the fans, so much so that his "greed" involves ADDING features to game. However, it's clear that he has no idea about the battle mechanics of the game, which is a shame because battles make up the majority of the game in both single-player and multiplayer.
