>>40402644>>40402628Tajiri is CEO and "executive producer" in name only. He hasn't worked on anything at GameFreak in decades now, since R/S era. He pretty much is just there to say "okay" when a game is finished, and even then he probably wouldn't be able to override decisions made by Masuda and Ishihara (executive producers don't have much power over a final product).
As for what happened to him, he's really private and hasn't made a public appearance in years, has no social media accounts, hasn't done interviews in years etc. The most recent piece of media involving him was a manga made about his life ("ポケモンをつくった男 田尻智") but I've not been able to find scans of it, so I've no idea if it covers what he does now in his life.
I do wonder what his true opinion of what the franchise has become is.
