Kalosshipping, on the other hand...pretty much what you say there...there's no super strong indication that Serena/Calem has romantic feelings towards you the player. It's friendly and all, but perhaps too much so in certain ways.
When I played R/S/E as a kid though, I definitely shipped my player character with May because of how enthusiastic she would always be about seeing him. However, I haven't played OR/AS, where May apparently blushes at the male PC quite a bit.
