>>49872511>Taking screencaps out of contextThe context is a guy is talking about how humans and Pokemon should be compatible. In the background, it’s showing images of Pokemon and humans being “compatible”. The images are a guy playing fetch with a Lillipup, a girl dressed up as a Lilligant and performing with her, and finally, a guy marrying a Gothitelle. It’s not played as a joke, it’s just casually dropped in there like it’s barely worth mentioning. The context doesn’t disprove anything.
>Verily, let's be honest and say it would be like Jane and one of the non-human apesA lot of Pokemon don’t resemble any kind of animal. Gothitelle is a good example. So no, it wouldn’t exactly be like as Jane and one of the apes. That’s why I said “wild nonhuman”, because that’s the most accurate way to describe it.
>When I ask why Pokémon is so adamant at saying Pokémon are *not* people you lot can't even give a good reason as to why. They aren’t the same as humans, but they aren’t what you fantasize about either. You just come up with crazy rationalizations when you’re shown Pokemon being presented on a higher level than animals. First you try to say “it’s just a joke” or “it’s just basic animal helper anthropomorphism”. Then when that doesn’t work, you start talking about Scooby Doo or Yogi Bear as if they’re comparable series at all. I mean damn, talk about disregarding context.
Anyways, yeah, if you see an image like this one and start thinking about fucking your dog, you might have some issues. The average person would just think it’s cute and then move on with their day. If it somehow makes you seethe about dogfucking, that’s honestly not a sign of a sound mind.
