>>51154359Now let’s move to the giant elephant sized crater in the room. Well I think that I found an answer to this! There is an “impact structure” located to the south of Zaragoza centered at the town of Azuara. It’s unclear what exactly caused it but evidence points towards this being a meteor because of mineral samples from the area. Meteor impacts can be so overwhelmingly hot, that minerals can actually get turned into glass as if it was in a furnace. Specifically, the quartz in this area has been studied for deformations from an impact, and I don’t know about you, but the Terastal crystals look a lot like quartz to me.
Now unfortunately, the Azuara impact structure really doesn’t look that sexy. At all. But there is the Caldera Taburiente in La Palma, Canaries! While Azuara probably resembles the location and the role in the game’s lore, Taburiente may resemble the actual appearance. I also think that like Azuara, there is a good chance that there is a town in the center of the region, perhaps it was transplanted from the past or the future and will be part of the endgame or postgame. Maybe this location is the source of the Past/Future forms and they manage to break out of their containment board- I mean area.
