With Greninja it was love at first sight, I absolutely fell head over heels over his design and was so eager to use him, and after several hours of playing together plus using Amie he permanently made his way to my heart. He's seriously so cool and has an amazing design imo, incorporating the "human" theme without actually looking to humanoid, it's basically still a frog.
As for Charizard, yeah, it does get a lot of exposition and it can get very tiring, but I don't let that ruin the Pokemon per se for me. I've always loved Charizard and it's honestly an incredibly cool and appealing Pokemon. No matter what GF does with it, I'll never be able to dislike the guy.
