had a bit of a rough start, all the random items were replaced by key items or low value ones so i couldn't buy many pokeballs. caught a mawile which seems like a beast, ran out of balls on a bellossom above viridian. ground for a bit (the fixed damage mase that risk free on the early routes) then ran through the grass before the league to fight the rival and get a bit of money. obliterated him and got enough for a single ball. caught a drowzee... with payday! couldn't be more lucky. time to slowly grinz for money so i'll actually be able to catch something in viridian forest.
