>>23059086Route 1
The issues of Route 1 were focused on its unwieldy size, convoluted navigation and its striking challenge for a first route. The changes made will be:
> A subtle path in the snow along the most direct route to Tremol Town will be added to help guidance.>The sign at the start of the route will refer to the direction Tremol Town is in.>The second ledge from Dacapo will be flipped horizontally and the third ledge will be removed altogether.>The last patch of grass (2x3 path above the stairs) will be removed.>The stairs leading up to an item near to Dacapo will be removed. The item will be surf access only.>The hiker trainer on the side path will be removed. The comfy hat youngster will replace the spinning youngster, leaving nobody in his former place to obstruct the first wild Pokemon battle.>The two staircases leading up from the exit to Waterfall Cave and the ice sliding area will both be removed. These two areas will be directly connected to each other.>Mangrove will encourage the player to take the above-land route to Tremol. An NPC at the entrance to Waterfall Cave will actively discourage entrance but not stop the player if they do choose to do so.An example of how the final point would work may be Mangrove saying, "Stick to the path and you'll be in Tremol in no time!". An NPC at the cave entrance says, "I can't make heads or tails of how to get through this cave. I keep ending up right back here."
Things that have not been decided as of yet that may further change on route 1 include removing Hail and lowering the level of the wild Pokemon. Hail continuing to exist was a non-issue during deliberation of changes however the idea of having it only on the second and further passes through got some approval. This would have Mangrove say something like, "It's sunny out now but it looks like it's going to snow soon! Better hurry to get Sequoia while the weather is still good."
Level changes will likely aim to get wild Pokemon at >5.
