Think about it, he's known for showering his personal designs with love. Maybe he declared total war on the Frog when he saw the poll results didn't even have Lucario in Top 10 while Greninja had the 1st spot. It makes sense considering the fact that by that time, Greninjash was already a thing, so the best revenge he could've gotten would be to make Greninjash a useless jobber that didn't amount to anything despite the hype AND also lost his powers. What better way to knock it down a peg or two?
