>>55022422Is that all the comeback you've got?
>>55022440Sure, the issue isn't that, the issue is that the poster in question is being disingenuous. He does not even try to hide it in his own post, claiming that he writes because he likes to write, and that the dopamine rush he gets from the commends/feedback loop is just a byproduct that "le taken over him".
It's a lie. He is lying to himself and by proxy he is lying to you. It isn't just about the comments, it is the thought process itself, the driving force behind his writing that became tainted. Every time he writes a beautiful passage, a subversion of expectation or a sudden twist in well-established character he relives this desire for feedback and recognition of his genius in his imagination: will they appreciate what he did here? Will they pick up on the subtlest hint? What would they think about this or that? How deep and well-thought their understanding will be? As I said, it became a masturbatory habit.
But instead of admitting that, he went seeking recognition yet again. This time it was the need for kindred souls. Surely there are people like him, surely there are people that understand him, that feel the same? And if there are then what he feels is normal. *Inevitable.* There is a comfort in that.
But even if he claims that all the comments and the praises he still receives became dull, he will sink his teeth into every single one and suck their very bones dry.
P.S. On unrelated note, this is why if you write for comments and recognition of your genius, you NEED negative feedback. All the praises destined to become dull if there is nothing to offset them, to balance out. I've noticed that both FF and AO3 suffer from lack of negative feedback on anything, but the most controversial stuff like pedo/loli. A shame, really. In my opinion, it should be more like Steam user review section, no matter how trash it looks - it always keeps you on your toes.
