>>36064529As it was pointed out when the full lines of Unova starters were first revealed, the problem is that gen 5's pokedex would've been better if the evolution lines were shorter or more focused. So many of them seem like they were needlessly extended to to make the dex number higher and as a result look very lazy, derivative, or underwhelming.
Darmanitan is one of my favorite pokemon of all time but I find Darumaka repulsive.
Boldore and Gigalith are fine pokemon but Roggenrola looks like shit.
Timburr and Conkledurr look alright but Gurdurr seems like completely unnecessary filler drawn in 15 seconds.
Cubchoo looked like it could go somewhere interesting but Beartic is one of the most uninteresting designs in the franchise.
And we all know how people feel about Samurott.
