>>57237720Well I agree with pretty much everything you've said anon. It isn't that I've consciously re-evaluated it, my opinions have stayed largely the same and if anything I have a fuller understanding now of the flaws of generation 5 than I did at the time.
You bring up a very important point, the negative impacts of gen 5 aren't contained within that generation itself, it had a knock on effect on generation 6 and you rightly point out the heavy burden of trying to right the ship's course after the poor decisions of generation 5. Generation 6 would have been far better a gen had generation 5 not been what it was.
It's moreso that how I feel about it emotionally has cooled rather than my mind having been changed intellectually speaking. The intensite of the hatred for some of the Star Wars prequels cooled a lot after the new ones came out and were a million times worse. If you get served bad food that makes you feel a bit ill at a restaurant once you might not be happy yes. But how strongly you feel about that on an emotional level may cool somewhat if the same restaurant gives you food poisoning once a week for the next 10 years. (I know it doesn't really make sense to go back to that restaurant again and again but I'm just trying to convey a point here.)
