>Normal/Something dual types
Why is this suddenly a thing now? Normal is supposed to be a "miscellaneous" or "typeless" type.
Look at Normal/Flying. Flying MUST be paired with something (Tornadus is the only one that isn't), and in that case Normal as a placeholder type makes a lot of sense.
It worked for Girafarig because he was essentially two different pokemon in the same body. Bibarel, okay, he's a national rodent and needs to retain his original typing. Jigglypuff too, it's hard to retcon an existing pokemon's type and remove STAB from half his movepool.
But Sawsbuck being Normal/Grass?
Meloetta being Normal/Fighting or Normal/Psychic?
Helioptile being Normal/Electric?
Litleo being Normal/Fire?
For what purpose does this serve? Are they just going to replace Normal with another type when it evolves? I mean, they've been adding secondary types upon evolution for 5 generations now without telegraphing it with Normal typing. Even then it still doesn't make sense for Sawsbuck and Meloetta,
