As for Pure Power... That's on the condition of a reduced Atk stat at 62.
A giant Fire-Badger reinforced with supernatural power hardly seems out of place with that ability.
I mean what cues you in on Aerodactyl being a Rock type other than it being based on a prehistoric animal?
Meganium being a Brontosaur hardly seems unfitting for the secondary rock typing.
For a lot of Grass types Rock typing would be a saving grace not to mention the design options opened up for future remakes adding evolutions, regional variants and megas (yes even a possible megameganium).
