If it was always shit, why not change that? Just because some stuff (say graphics, mechanics, concepts, etc) were worse before, doesn't mean it's okay to make it worse again. I now people unironically think the same way as that wojak pic saying "I suddenly have standards now", but is it really a bad thing? After years of mediocre games, of course some of us would like an improvement over the games. Personally, there's other games I prefer over pokémon, so it's not like these games are the only games I play, but I still want them to be good at least.
