I've been nicknaming mons since I was 12. I don't see why I should suddenly stop now. Usually I just choose some sort of theme and everytime I find a new poke I want to include in the team I try to choose an apropriate name.
My X team for example: Bran (Chespin), Margeary (Vivillon), Jaime (Pyroar), Needle (Aegislash), Victarion (Clawitzer) and Rhaegar (Noivern).
I mostly do it to amuse myself and make my game run more memorable.
Tried not naming my mons once during my first White run. It totally sucked and I felt zero attachment after completing it. Never doing it again.
