>>36228371>>36228403Both ideals and truth are virtues. N and the protag each represent both qualities. Although they champion opposite ones depending on the game, they really understand each other, which is what makes their struggle tragic and why they have to battle to come to a conclusion.
But Zekrom and Reshiram were originally a single Pokemon. Their split was the result of human disagreements, resulting in the destruction of the Unova region. Their battles are seemingly unavoidable but are too destructive. Repeatedly the idea is that if you continue to use Zekrom/Reshiram as they are (divided by conflict) it has apocalyptic consequences.
N believes after the protag's ideals/truth wins his truth/ideals must disappear, thus ending the cycle of conflict. Which is one way of dealing with it. But the protag disagrees and wants reunion/compromise/continuation of the cycle, so (s)he searches for him after N vanishes. (Note the continued dynamic of truth vs ideals where both sides can represent truth or ideals)
You could say the conflict in Black and White... wasn't black and white. Of course this is all a metaphor for their friendship/bond as well as being about truth/ideals and about the continued existence of Unova. KINO.
