As for me, things have been better -- my dog is getting older and having some health complications. She was recently hospitalized for a week, but she's on the mend now (vestibular disorder, makes you think your dog is literally in the throes of death, but most animals usually recover with little to no complications!) -- but it's still scary to think about. She's nearly 17, and she's been with me through losing most of my family to illness over the years -- I know the day is slowly approaching, but I still struggle with the knowledge that I'm going to lose her.
