>>35953260The promoted Pokemon aren't promoted randomly. Usually most of the merchandise and promotion is based on the anime, because that's what makes the Pokemon sell the most. Said merchandise gets leaked/revealed months before the episodes about the featured pokemon appear in the anime. Same happens with Pokemon Movies. The same would happen with Smash. See the Red figma that came out half a year ago.
