I loved gen 6, especially ORAS, because it really streamlined the process of producing pentaperfect Pokemon. Breeding was easier than ever, and as soon as you hatched a Pokemon, you just had to tap the screen with those training games. You could have a tournament ready legit perfect Pokemon in less than an hour.
Now, gen 7 has kept a lot of these great conveniences while also blurring the process a little bit. EVs are inconvenient, just because you have to put some effort in at the battle tree to get the items that let you farm EVs. You also have to use BP to get hold items you need to be competitive. This is really shitty. Brace items are 16 and stuff like Specs and Scarf are, what, 30-48? You need to win hundreds of times, without access to these items to earn them. That's my only real complaint.
