>>37966553I've always thought that the actual territorial Pokémon are in the out-of-bounds, dense forest/mountain/sea areas, and the ones you encounter in-game were intentionally coming up to you, hoping to find a good trainer.(save for the obvious ones like electrode traps, tree bugs, etc) Plus, a good number of them seem intelligent enough to discern actual threats better than your average animal.
Through that lens, I'd say most Pokémon would keep to themselves as long as people don't go fucking around too far outside commonly traveled routes. Also, Pokémon world humans seem to be sturdier than our humans, so there's that safety net.
