the storyline is bad even by pokemon standards and even if it wasn't it would make no difference because it all happens offscreen
characters are as bland as ever with retarded and annoying lines almost no personality traits. Hop is literally copypaste from sun & moon.
What exactly do you mean by environment? The graphics sucked, most of the time there wasn't really anything in the background despite having a fixed camera, wild area is empty and looks like shit, only 10 routes with no dungeons and tiny villages with copypasted buildings.
Lore is almost nonexistent compared to previous regions such as johto, sinnoh or unova
