Dawn has better personality, purpose and interaction with the cast while Serena is prettier than her. Maybe the anime should have introduce a girl that is prettier than Serena (Rosa, Hilda) with similar characteristic as Dawn.

Off course the anime introduce new girl better than Dawn/Serena but they haven't done it yet. I was wonder about seeing a girl like Rin Tohsaka as Ash's new companion who has similar funny expression as her. Furthermore Marnie could have mog both Dawn and Serena if she appeared.

Honestly a girl like Rin Tohsaka would fit better as a lead girl considering that she is competent & smart yet expressive & funny. Imagine younger Rin from Fate zero start ranting when Ash does something crazy.

Why Rin Tohsake? Mainly because she is funny & childish despite her competence and usefulness. For a kids anime, that is super important. Just imagine Fate/Zero Rin Tohsaka making bizarre expression whenever Ash does something crazy.
