There are lots of different ways to convey relatedness, of course, not just Char+(reptile-word) kinda stuff. And the good names we have are REALLY good, pic related. It's simple, it has enough subtlety to be fun without going full-obscure, and the family inherits the -ott-. Other aspects aside, good name.
It seems really important to design for players, not for designers. Yes, even if there might never be that many players who weren't designers.
