I started playing pokemon when I was six. I saw some kid at daycare playing pokemon blue version and I became instantly obsessed. My mom didn't let me play video games but my stepdad got me my first handheld console and got me blue and crystal. Since my mom hated me playing video games so much, I only got a new game for Christmas, when other adults noticed the pokemon fad. So the pokemon games were just steeped into my childhood, they were all I had aside from my books. When I replay the games or play through new gens, it's a lonely, bittersweet feeling.
