I compiled several different artworks of fake Rowlet evolutions. This is just to compare the possible concepts and ideas between them. I took these all from google images.
I've noticed that most artists tend to go for the gentleman approach, which usually consists of giving Rowlet a top hat, watch, bowtie, and such. Many Rowlet evolution artworks depict a simpler approach, a larger Rowlet with some grass-related motifs.
Surprisingly, some art depicts Rowlet evolving into a gryphon. I find this exciting, but also unlikely.
So far, Ballio's friend (the name escapes me) is the only one to have matched Robingroot's archer/assassin design. However, Ballio's friend seems a bit too menacing for a Pokemon design. While Pokemon like Darkrai have similar sinister and dark themes, they still look like villains from a children's cartoon show. Ballio and his friend, on the other hand, look like something out of a graphic novel for adults (Twisted Fairy Tales! I can see it now...)
Anyway, out of all these, Robingroot definitely seems the most legit (in my personal opinion). His archer theme certainly correlates well with Rowlett's description of being a long-distance attacker. Also, the character of Robin Hood is almost universally designed as wearing a green tunic, which suits his association with Sherwood Forest. Robingroot's design captures this same idea.
Of course, not everyone is going to agree and that's fine. What do you guys think is more probable for a Rowlet evolution?
