>>50261140Well, I can toss in some more fun info then.
The only pokemon I actually dropped from the team was Hazel, a Stoutland. She hard carried the team in the early game as a Herdier with eviolite + Work Up + STAB Take Down / Strength and was the main reason I beat Elesa. By the Ghetsis fight, though, she was getting really outmoded stats-wise - putting Toxic on her was my last attempt to make her useful and it still didn't really work. She got replaced by Harassment.
Before this playthrough, I had never encountered a random shiny pokemon before. Then, while EV-training Hax (I'm very bad at these games and just like having overpowered mons) I encountered a shiny Basculin, my first shiny ever, after growing up with pokemon games. It was big for me because I have two younger siblings who play pokemon and who both have had multiple shinies before.
I'm currently planning on playing each game from Emerald up through B2W2 (both versions of each, eventually) and having a complete dex in B2, so I've been trying to complete the pokedex in Black for the first time, which has also been surprisingly fun. As a kid, I was a little shit with an Action Replay and beat Black and the Mystery Dungeon games by cheating, and W2 with a traded 5IV Dragonite, so this is the first time I've beaten one of these childhood games under my own power. Platinum was my first Pokemon game and the one I've started the most (~4) times over my life, and I've still never managed to beat it, so maybe this will be the time.
