https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWKUfsHKr1UGen 2 forest and caves themes were pretty eerie and pressuring, I like them but Johto definitely had the worst caves and dungeons if their intention was to annoy and add some difficulty in their navigation.
Good games and still pleasing to replay,
the shallow movepools and ammount of TMs and reusable ones was a let down even back then, honestly have no problems with the level curves but for sure grinding pokes to L.100 was a pain in the ass, Pokemon Stadium 2 helped a lot with the speed booster.
Perhaps the region is also a little small but much comfier and easily more aesthetic than Kanto and its awful cities and routes designs.
