The only thing I liked about BW1 was the plot and characters. Gameplay was just kind of standard, so it's not something that I come back to. All the modern perceptions of this game and its value are really bizarre to me...People putting this game on the same pedestal as 4th Gen, but really? So much 4th Gen's content suddenly went out the door, and it wasn't just the dex. There were no following Pokemon, no berry farm, no VS rematches, no Secret Bases, and no fun sidequests like the Pokeathlon or Contests. Aside from the Musicals, I guess. But that didn't have nearly as much replay value as collecting Ribbons for Contests, or the Medals at Pokeathlon. Until BW2, there wasn't much content worth talking about aside from maybe the Abyssal Ruins.
