I just rewatched the indigo league for the first time since I was about 6 and currently on the orange islands and my god, I dont remember the indigo league being this bad. All the memorable episodes are basically before sabrina, and after sabrina, the filler gets fucking unbearable. Not to mention that ash is a fucking dumbass that doesnt learn anything, sucks at battling, and has literally almost all his gym badges handed to him for free. I am enjoying the orange islands somewhat more compared to the middle and ending of season 1. So that's something. But I wouldnt call any of it good honestly. Not even for a pokemon fan. Is x and y good for someone who likes the ins and outs of pokemon? (Watching characters grow more knowledgeable about battling, actually talk about type match ups and moves, etc?.)
